Minnesota DNR To Lift Ban on White-Tail Deer Movement

The Minnesota Department of Natural Resources has announced a temporary rule prohibiting the importation and movement of farmed white-tailed deer into and within Minnesota will be rescinded.

The rule was placed into effect back on October 11th of this year and was implemented to reduce the further spread on Chronic Wasting Disease in the Minnesota white-tail deer population.

Over the course of the Minnesota Rifle hunting season, the DNR collected more than 7,000 samples from harvested deer and will use the data to further map the spread of CWD within the state.

The temporary rule will be lifted on Monday, December 6th, the DNR will continue best practices and will reinstate the temporary ban if needed in the future.
