Nicoll's Cafe Under New Ownership

Pine City staple Nicoll's Cafe has changed hands.

The cafe was purchased by Tou Choua, who told WCMP that his dream was to always own a business.

"I found this opportunity in Pine City. Nicoll's Cafe has been around for a very long time. It has been a very successful cafe, and that's what has intrigued me from the very beginning."

After a visit to Pine City and a sampling of the food at Nicoll's, Choua said that he wanted to invest in this new opportunity.

"I honestly didn't expect to come this soon," said Choua.

Nicoll's will change its name to Mia's Cafe. Other changes included expanded weekday hours, and they plan to accept card payments in the future.

"We'll have mostly the same menu. We are introducing daily lunch specials, and we plan to include dinner specials too."

The legacy of Nicoll's as a welcoming community eatery is something that Choua wants to keep as he moves forward with the business.

"I want to carry that legacy forward," Choua said. "I want people to feel welcome when they come in and enjoy great food."

Mia's Cafe is now open 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. Monday through Friday and 7:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. Saturdays and Sundays.
