Chisago County authorities are investigating after a pipe bomb was discovered on the side of the road near Rush City yesterday afternoon.
A call from a concerned citizen led deputies to discovered the device on Evergreen Ave. between Rush Lake Road and Rush Point Drive in rural Rush City.
The area was closed off, causing several school buses to be rerouted, and the St. Paul Bomb Squad was called to defuse the explosive.
The Chisago County Sheriff's Office said that much of the device was able to be recovered for further analysis.
