A Superior, Wisconsin, woman is dead following a head-on crash on I-35 in the northern part of Pine County Wednesday evening.
According to the Minnesota State Patrol, a Rav 4 driven by the 61-year-old woman was traveling in the wrong direction of the southbound lanes of I-35 in Kettle River Township when she struck a Volkswagon Tiguan driven by a 19-year-old from St. Louis Park.
The 19-year-old was transported to Mercy Hospital in Duluth, where he is being treated for life-threatening injuries.
It is unknown if Alcohol is a factor in the crash.
The Pine County Sheriff’s Office, Moose Lake Fire Department, and Illinois State Police assisted with the crash.
