East Central MN Pride in the Park

The 12th annual East Central Minnesota Pride in the Park is this Sunday.

The event runs from noon until 5 pm, with an assortment of different activities and events throughout the day.

One of the features of the event is a performance by Kat Perkins, a singer/songwriter who competed on the NBC television show, the Voice.

Pride in the Park is held at Robinson Park in Pine City.

Fun Run at Wild River State Park

The Chisago County 4-H is hosting a family friendly fun run tomorrow morning.

Held at Wild River State Park, the Run Wild Kids fun run is 9 am to 11 am.

Entrants into the fun run receive a free t-shirt, entry into door prizes, and a state Park Day pass.

Registration begins 1 hour prior to the run at the Park.

All profits will benefit the youth of our communities through the Chisago County 4-H program.

Fishing Contest at Vanelli’s

A local fishing contest is being held tomorrow on Pokegama Lake.

The 9th annual Jim Hayes Scholarship Fishing Contest is being hosted by Vannelli’s landing.

Entry into the tournament is 20 dollars, and 10 dollars for kids under 12.

The tournament is this Saturday, June 3rd and runs from 9 am until 2 pm.

End of the School Year

As summer is finally in full swing, local schools are wrapping up their years.

Pine City High School just graduated its seniors last week, with two others doing so this Sunday.

Both Rush City and Mora High Schools are celebrating the graduation of their seniors on Sunday, both ceremonies take place at 2 pm.
