North Branch Hotel Robbery Suspects Still at Large

The pair of men who robbed a hotel in North Branch last month are suspected in a string of robberies.

The men are thought to be connected to other robberies in Hastings, Red Wing, Inver Grove Heights, Woodbury.

The suspects in the case are described as black men in their mid-20’s with one being about 6 feet tall and the other being about 5 foot 7.

During the robbery of the hotel in North Branch the robbers left with an undisclosed amount of money.

Suspected Arson in Grantsburg

Recent fires in rural areas of Grantsburg are suspected to be arson.

August 31st saw a building burn down in a total loss between the St. Croix River and Fish Lake.

The Grantsburg Fire Department and Burnett County Sheriff’s Department are suspecting arson.

The structure was uninhabited at the time and no one was injured.

Two brush fires were also reported the same day and were believed to have been caused by a car rim sending sparks into grassy areas.

Snowmobile Safety Registration

The Hinckley and Pine City Flames meet and greet for snowmobiles is coming up once again.

The meet and greet will allow time to register youth interested ages 11-15 for the snowmobile safety training class.

The cost of the course is $15, which is half the price of the online course, as long as entrants pre-register at the meet and greet.

The registration date is September 23rd from 11 am to 3 pm at the Flames Club House in Beroun.

Veterans Benefit in Ogilvie

A fundraiser to benefit veterans programs is being held this weekend.

The Fundraiser is aimed at scrapbookers, stampers, quilters and crafters.

The fundraiser is being held Saturday, the 16th from 10 am to 10 pm at the Ogilvie St. Kathryn’s Church.

A $25 donation gives table space, lunch and dinner, door prizes, a raffle, silent auction and more.
