A 38-year-old North Branch man is in critical condition after he collided head-on with semi tractor-trailer near Stacy, Minnesota.
According to a press release, a call came into the Chisago County Communications Center in the early morning of Wednesday, June 19. The caller reported a motor vehicle crash on Forest Blvd in Lent Township, and the driver was not responsive.
Upon arrival, deputies learned that the driver would need to be extracted from his pick-up. The Stacy/Lent Fire Fire Department removed the driver, and he was then taken via helicopter to Regions Hospital where he was listed in critical condition.
The driver of the semi, a 47-year-old man from Harris, Minnesota, did not appear to be injured by the crash.
Authorities believe drugs or alcohol may have been a contributing factor in the collision. The case is under investigation by the Chisago County Sheriff’s Office and Minnesota State Patrol.
