The Minnesota Department of Natural Resources recently received a 241-acre land donation from the Trust For Public Land located within the Chengwatana State Forest in Chisago County.
The donated land is located along the St. Croix River and will be managed by the DNR as part of the state forest.
The land donation includes portions of the St. Croix National Scenic Riverway.
According to a DNR news release, this is the second part of a two-phase donation from the trust, totaling more than 900 acres.
The land was previously owned by Xcel Energy and was purchased using a grant from the Minnesota Outdoor Heritage Fund.
