A Grantsburg man was sentenced to life in prison on Thursday in a 2023 Burnett County homicide case.
David Edaburn Jr. was charged with first-degree intentional homicide after the stabbing death of Siren resident Brittany Hollan in September of 2023.
Last August, Edaburn entered a no contest plea.
According to court documents, Edaburn was sentenced to life in prison without eligibility of extended supervision on June 5.
The criminal complaint states that law enforcement was called to Hollan’s Siren residence in the early hours of Sept. 15, 2023, with a request to remove four children from the property. The caller reported that he had killed Hollan.
Hollan was discovered deceased in her bedroom, and four unharmed children were removed from the home due to safety concerns.
Law enforcement subsequently searched for and located Edaburg at his Grantsburg residence, who turned himself in without incident after emergency response teams arrived on scene.
An autopsy of Hollan determined that she had died from sharp force trauma to the head and neck.
