The Pine Center For the Arts will host a gallery titled "People, Places & Other Things: A 50 Year Retrospective" through the month of July.
According to a news release, the exhibition will feature the works of photographer Douglas Hartford, an Arden Hills resident who has been taking photographs for over 70 years, and Aitkin native Olivia Hoppe, who primarily uses pen and ink enhanced with acrylic, watercolor, and pencil coloring.
The release states that Hoppe draws influence from early exposure to Native American and mountain man craft traditions made by her father.
Hartford describes his photography as "a way to find the beauty illuminated by God’s light in the world."
The gallery will open on Saturday, July 5, with a public artists' reception from 4 to 7 p.m.
It will remain open throughout July, with regular gallery hours from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Thursday through Saturday, and 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Sundays.
Admission is free and open to the public.
The event is made possible through an operating grant from the East Central Regional Arts Council, and is sponsored by Pizza Pub.
