Pine County administrator David Minke is resigning from his position effective Sept. 4.
Minke, who has served as the county’s administrator for the last 13 years, sent the Pine County Commissioners his resignation letter on Tuesday.
He will take on the administrator role in Aitkin County starting Sept. 8, after the county board approved an employment agreement at Tuesday’s meeting.
Minke's letter reads:
"Dear Chair Mohr and Commissioners,
I am writing to voluntarily resign my position of county administrator under section 10 (B) of my employment agreement. That agreement requires a 45-day notice period, making my last day of employment September 4, 2025.
It has been an honor and a privilege to work for you and the residents of Pine County. I am
grateful for the trust you have shown me and proud of our many accomplishments over the last 13 years.
I owe a debt of gratitude to the Pine County staff and will be forever grateful for the opportunity I had to work with those talented and dedicated public servants. My team never let me down.
I will work diligently to do everything I can to assist in the transition."
