The Pine County Sheriff’s Office has reported an ATV crash that resulted in a death last weekend.
According to sheriff Jeff Nelson, the crash occurred around 1:15 p.m. Saturday in the Nemadji State Forest.
A news release states that it was reported a group of 12 were riding in the forest and one four-wheeler got ahead of the group. When the group caught up, they found the wreckage.
There were no witnesses to the crash.
A 48-year-old male from Rice was reported deceased at the scene.
Nelson said some Nemadji State Forest trails can pose a challenge to ATV drivers, and accidents in the area are not uncommon.
He also reminded ATV drivers to practice safe habits, watch their speed, and know where they’re going.
