Rush City Council taps Flaten to fill vacant seat

The Rush City Council appointed a candidate to fill a vacant seat after holding interviews on May 12.

According to city administrator Amy Mell, Diana Flaten will be sworn in at next week’s council meeting on May 28.

The seat belongs to council member Tom Schneider, who has been unable to serve due to injury or illness.

Flaten’s appointment will run through the end of 2026, or until Schneider is able to return to council duties.
