Chisago Lakes hosted North Branch on Monday night. The girls teams for both schools were up first. Unfortunately, this first game was fairly lopsided. The Wildcats opened up a double digit lead quickly, after the Vikings scored first.

Pine City hosted MLWR on Friday night. The Dragons were looking to finish off the long week strong. Pine City was able to get off to a good start against the Rebels. They set the pace offensively and the defense was suffocating.

Braham hosted Mille Lacs on Thursday. The Bombers were looking for another win over a section and conference opponent, while keeping the top spot in the section standings.

Braham welcomed in Swanville on Tuesday night. The Bombers entered the night on top of the standings in 5A East, a win would keep them in that spot, a loss would open the door for East Central to take over.

Pine City hosted Barnum on Monday night. After nearly a week between games Pine City was finally able to get back out on the court. The Dragons came in riding a three game win streak and look to start the new week off right.

The Cambridge-Isanti Girls hosted Big Lake on Thursday night. It was a frigid night outside, which forced the game to be moved up. The Bluejackets were looking for the 2nd win in a row, after beating Chisago Lakes on Tuesday.

Cambridge-Isanti took both of their basketball squads to Chisago Lakes on Tuesday night. The girls teams played first, these two met before the Christmas break, and it was a close game that the Wildcats came away with.

East Central traveled to Mora on Monday night. Both teams have a lot of youth on their squads but the youth is very talented and continues to improve as the season goes along.

Pine City hosted Esko on Saturday afternoon. The Dragons had a tough loss to start their week of play against Milaca, but won on Friday over Mille Lacs. Now they got their opportunity to end the win with 2 wins and get back over .500 on the season.

Rush City hosted Milaca on Friday night. These two teams run fairly similar, both play physical defense and more of a patient offense. This is exactly what we seen in the 1st half. Both teams tried to work the ball inside and find the easier layups but the defenses were stingy and there was not alot of room to even pass the ball.

Pine City hosted Mille Lacs on Thursday night. The Dragons were able to score first but it wasn't long before the Raiders answered to tie the game. But the Raiders were able to go on a 26-3 run which left Pine City reeling.

Pine City traveled to Milaca on Tuesday night. Both of these teams came in looking to improve their section records, plus a win improves their QRF, which could go a long way come playoff time. Once the game began, both teams took some time to settle in.

The Hinckley-Finlayson boys hosted Milaca on Monday. The 1st half between these two teams was a defensive battle. Neither team was able to take a lead of more than 4 points.

Pine City hosted Hinckley-Finlayson on Thursday night. Both teams looked to get back into the win column. The Jags got on the board first with a couple trips to the free throw line. Pine City then turned things around going on a 17-0 run. Their offense was able to set the pace of the game during that run, their defense also helped with some turnovers which were turned into points.

Pine City hosted Braham on Tuesday night. Both teams got off to a decent start, but Pine City was able to match the pace that the Bombers set. This allowed the Dragons to keep the game close. You could sense Pine City had found some belief in their team, understanding they could stick with any team they faced. It was a back and forth battle, but turnovers started to pile up for Pine City, which Braham was able to capitalize on.

East Central hosted MLWR on Monday night. The Eagles got off to a good start and quickly jumped out to a double digit lead. It looked like they were going to put the game away early, but the Rebels would not go away quietly.

Both Braham teams hosted Upsala on Friday afternoon. It started with the boys. Both the teams like to push the pace and score early and often.

Braham hosted Barnum on Tuesday afternoon. It's the annual battle of the Bombers, whether it's fall, winter or spring these two teams seem to play during every season. This time during Christmas break, and as the game began it seemed like the early start time along with it being in the middle of Xmas break, gave these teams some rust to knock off.

The Lady Dragons hosted Cloquet on Tuesday night. The Dragons played their third team in Class AAA or higher with the matchup. They were looking to get back over .500 on the season and head into Christmas break on a high note. It wasn't the best of starts for either team, fouls piled up early on for Cloquet. Both defenses played hard and made it difficult to find any decent shots.

The Cambridge-Isanti Boys hosted St. Francis on Friday night. Mike McDonald's crew was looking for the first conference win of the season, but it wasn't going to be easy against a rival. The Bluejackets applied the pressure early against the Saints, on offense they scored early and often, on defense they played full court and it forced a plethora of turnovers.
